Dear Students and Parents, IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION: When the school temporarily closed on March 16, we had no idea that the shutdown would last this long. Now that the Governor has extended the date for reopening and the threat of the coronavirus remains, we once again find a need to adjust. With the continuing payments and strong support of many students and parents, we have been able to help the staff and keep the school viable. For this, we are very grateful. One of the things we promised to all who paid for classes while we are closed is one extra makeup class for each three paid-for classes. With the many students who want to retain their seat in class and remain with us, we have decided it is now necessary to stop adding more makeup classes to the credits earned by those who have paid. As we announced on April 21, we would be stopping any students who were not current in their payments. On April 25, those students were placed on a prioritized waiting list, according to the end date of their tuition payments. With the number of students who will be doing makeup classes, we have decided to freeze payments at this time and are hereby providing the following guidelines. All students who have any OLD makeups (prior to the March 16 closure) will have one year to make up the missed class, beginning from the date the class was missed. This has always been our policy and we will continue to honor those makeups, allowing for this temporary closure as well. The teachers keep records of every students and can provide that information. All students who have paid-for classes beyond March 16 will have 18 months to make up those missed classes after we reopen. For every three classes paid after the closure and missed, an extra free makeup class will be credited to the student. Students whose tuition was not paid up to date by April 25 were dropped from active enrollment and placed on a waiting list to return to their classes if they want to re- enroll. We tried to call and leave messages to everyone in this category. Students who paid for some classes after March 16 and stopped later will have makeups for those classes paid for and will be in a higher position on the waiting list, according to the number of classes covered. Any tuition payments made prior to April 25 for any dates extending past that date are now credited to that student's account and may be used as regular class payment when we reopen. For example, if you paid for four classes on April 21 (covering the class days of 4/21 & 28, 5/ 5 & 12) April 21 and 28 will be makeup days and May 5 and 12 will pay for your regularly scheduled classes when we reopen. All accounts are frozen at this time until we reopen. No additional payments are necessary and those on auto-pay will not be charged. Thank you again for your support and loyalty. We will let you know when we feel it is reasonable to reopen with all the safety precautions in place. Our best to you and your loved ones. We hope to see you soon! Bob & Judi
